Name:  Candice Cipullo

Qualification:  BA In child Development Education; Master of Arts in Educational Administration

Presently teaching / Department:  Sunshine

Candice joined us in September 2008 as a Rainbow class teacher. After welcoming her first child into the world in 2009, she is back as a part time teacher, teaching music to all the classes and helping out during learning center time. She has taught Music and Computer Language Arts for 6 years in the Philippines and taught Special Education and Music in Washington, D.C. Always with a smile on her face and a positive attitude, Candice brings a loving positive energy into all her classes and the children are always delighted with her exiting and entertaining music programs.

 

Name:  Valerie Prentice

Qualification:  Bachelor of Science

Presently teaching / Department:  Sunshine

As Assistant Director and Sunshine teacher Valerie has a very full plate here at Happy Days. Fortunately Valerie has the energy and passion to sustain her in this dual role.

 

Name:  Saki Hayashi

Qualification:  Early Childhood Care and Education Certificate, BA in Psychology

Presently teaching / Department:  Stars

As a qualified Early Childhood Educator, Saki brings to Happy Days a healthy background in respect to child growth and development, guiding and caring, health, safety and nutrition, music and movement, creative art and theme based curriculum. In addition, Sakis experience as a volunteer worker at Brunswick Child Development center in Vancouver has given her numerous wonderful learning opportunities which she brings to Happy Days. A gentle personality coupled with patience and a real love for the little ones mean that all our Stars and Moonshine children are in great hands.

 

Name:  Anthony Trotter

Qualification:  Bachelor of Social Science (IR and HRM)

Presently teaching / Department:  Director

Anthony is a dynamic, compassionate educator from New Zealand. With several years experience in Japan at the early childhood education level, Anthony is committed to providing all our children with a relaxed yet structured, positive atmosphere that is conducive to learning and building both self-confidence and esteem. Anthony's energetic approach and dedication to Happy Days is a definite asset to the school, the parents and the students. At Happy Days parents are able to speak with staff on a daily basis about their child's progress and as Director of the school Anthony is always accessible.

 

Name:  Sayaka Asahara

Qualification:  Kindergarten Education Major from Tamagawa University

Presently teaching / Department:  Rainbow

Sayaka is an organized, efficient, and motivated teacher. Having spent 10 years living in America before returning to Japan to major in kindergarten education, Sayaka’s grasp and comprehension of English speaking and her teaching abilities are outstanding. She has received a diploma for an intensive Teaching Young Children program from Canada along with numerous awards and achievements for her ability to teach English. Sayaka is an enthusiastic teacher with a wonderful creative attitude. Her eagerness to make positive contributions to every child’s education and her passion to help children learn and grow through fun experiences and opportunities, make her of much added value to the Rainbow Class.

 

Name:  Mie Kanamori

Qualification:  Bachelor of Arts

Presently teaching / Department:  Moonshine

We are always happy to welcome warm, friendly and caring people here at Happy Days and Mie fits that description perfectly. Having been educated at International Schools here in Japan before finishing her tertiary education at California State University Mie is able to bring a wonderful understanding of International learning to our children. Energy, patience and a real love for children are just some of the many attributes that Mie brings to the Stars and Moonshine class.

 

Name:  Keiko Kawabata

Qualification:  BA in Human Relations; Master of Arts in TESOL

Presently teaching / Department:  Rainbow

Keiko joins us after just receiving a Masters in Arts in New York and qualifying for her Registered School Teachers License. Resourced with an incredible enthusiastic personality, Keiko is a wonderful addition to the Happy Days teaching team. She’s designed numerous curricula that will help to build the academic and intellectual needs of our children while keeping it fun and entertaining. She has lots of experience teaching drama in Education which allows her to create elaborate role-play situations to influence learning and create a magical environment emphasizing auditory, visual, and kinesthetic elements, making the learning process truly interactive and enjoyable while being highly educational. Along with all this, she has an immense love of children that shows in her caring and nurturing presence around the children.
